About this stay

In this luxurious maisonette you stay in the very place where the idea for the Sternkopf angels was born: here, designer Dr. Sylva-Michèle Sternkopf and her sister first envisioned the celestial collectible figures. Sylva personally styled all 140 m² across two levels — every room bears the signature of a classic angel model, and its matching angel watches over your stay. Sleep in the bright Hamptons style of "Blue Desire", enjoy the dusty-rose king-size boxspring bed of "Sweet Romance" or the oriental flair of "Sexy Lady". The Art-Deco living room "Pure Nature", the black-and-white dining room "Black Beauty" with its elegant spiral staircase, and the light-flooded veranda "Caribbean Summer" invite you to linger. Three bedrooms, a bathroom with a tub, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony offer space and comfort for up to 7 guests. Right across the street stands the traditional manufactory, where original Erzgebirge woodcraft has been made for generations — and the Sternkopf angels themselves for around twenty years. With its shop and its landmark, a several-metre-tall nutcracker, it is a destination in its own right. Around Gahlenz you will find a village museum, an alpaca farm and an 18-hole golf course; Augustusburg Castle, Oederan's "Little Ore Mountains" miniature park and the cultural city of Chemnitz are all close by. Two parking spaces right in front of the villa and self check-in make arrival easy.

Welcome to the Sternkopf-Engel Villa! The Sternkopf angels gave this villa its name – this is where they were born, and the family's Erzgebirge wood art® is still handcrafted with love today. The workshop was founded in 1929; Dr. Sylva-Michèle Sternkopf grew up here and designs the angels, produced in Gahlenz since 2006. Living among angels Each room is inspired by an angel from the classic collection: • Blue Desire – attic bedroom in an elegant Hamptons style, light blue and white • Sweet Romance – spacious bedroom on the Belle Étage, velvety dusky pink, king-size boxspring bed • Sexy Lady – second attic bedroom in an opulent Oriental style • Caribbean Summer – light-filled veranda with an exotic jungle wall • Pure Nature – living room in clean 1920s Art Déco style • Black Beauty – dining room in classic black and white with an ornamental spiral staircase Surroundings & day trips Gahlenz sits beautifully between the Erzgebirge mountains, forest and small villages. The villa is in Gahlenz, a district of Oederan, directly opposite the wood-art workshop. You'll spot it right away: a 7.14-metre giant nutcracker stands in front of it – once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest.

Free parking is available directly in front of the house.

Yes. Your apartment naturally has its own private bathroom. The washing machine is located outside the apartment in a privately used area half a flight up – we'll briefly coordinate its use with you in advance.

Yes, pets are welcome. For the additional cleaning effort we charge € 20 per stay – please let us know in advance.
