Why we create holiday homes that want to be more than just a bed for the night.
We are Paul and Lilly Sternkopf – siblings, deeply rooted in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains). Entrepreneurship runs in our family, now in its third generation: our grandfather already owned the wood-art manufactory in Gahlenz, founded in 1929 and right across from our villa – until the family lost it during the GDR era. But the creative spark remained. Our mother, Dr. Sylva-Michèle Sternkopf, carried it on – as an entrepreneur and designer, and among other things as the creator of the well-known Sternkopf angels. From her we learned that behind every beautiful place there is an idea.
Perhaps you can tell where we come from: Paul with a love of numbers and structure from studying mathematics, Lilly with an eye for people from studying psychology. Together that makes exactly the mix our small, growing company needs.
It all began in late 2023 with an old forest house in Hennersdorf – the house where our mother spent her childhood. We cleared it out piece by piece, lovingly did it up, and opened it as our first holiday home in June 2025. The response was so warm that it quickly became clear: we would keep going. In late 2025 the Sternkopf Angel Villa in Gahlenz followed – the house where we ourselves grew up. And by now our third home has joined them: a stylish apartment in the heart of Chemnitz, right on Theaterplatz.
What drives us is a standard: to create places that aren’t just “another Airbnb”. Houses with their own character, thoughtfully designed, a little extravagant if you like – paired with service that truly delivers: cleanliness, reliability, and honest tips for the region. In short: the best possible experience, from the first click to check-out.
And this is only the beginning. We believe in the Erzgebirge: the region has enormous tourism potential – and plenty of room to grow. Much of it is still done with love but very privately; high-quality, thoughtfully designed offerings in particular are missing. That’s exactly the gap we want to fill, growing step by step in the years ahead – always with the aim of moving tourism in the Erzgebirge forward and creating places you’ll remember.
